Article III - Purpose and Policy
from the By-Laws of the Amarillo Chapter of The Construction Specifications Institute, Inc.

Section 1.  The purpose of the Chapter is to provide a medium at local level for advancement of the objectives of the Institute.

Section 2.  The name, funds or influence of the Chapter may be used only in support of this purpose.

Section 3.  The Chapter endorses a nondiscriminatory policy as to membership and does not restrict membership based on a classification ration or any other practice.

The National CSI Organization was begun in 1948. Its web site address is http://www.csinet.org/. The web site address of our South Central Region is http://www.scr-csi.org/.  Our local CSI Chapter 021 was chartered in November 1967. Membership is composed of architects, engineers, specifiers, contractors, product manufacturers. Annual dues are $315.00 per year, $210.00 of which is national and $125.00 of which is meal cost (11 meals) due in one annual payment. Our chapter presently has 74 members and is one of the largest in Texas. Chapter meetings are held monthly at Dyer's BBQ in Wellington Square except May and December (Christmas). We meet at 5:45 p.m. for happy hour, and 6:30 p.m. for the all-you-can-eat family style dinner, on the fourth Monday of every month, except those two months just identified. Our programs are technical presentations, and often offer continuing education credits for those members who care to attend and register at no additional cost. Outside participants are welcome by invitation. The month of May is our annual Craftsmanship Awards Banquet and Installation of Officers.  The banquet is inclued in the annual meal assestment for all members, spouses and friends are welcome at a cost of $25.00 per person.   We sponsor a scholarship fund for which we accept applications each year for generous scholarship awards in the construction education field. We hold an open golf tournament and sell T-box signs at Ross Rogers Golf Course each year as a fund raising activity to assist with the scholarship fund
